We are an independent art community. We support and embrace ALL art: music, graphic, word, performance. Anything that is an expression of heart & humanity in a creative context.
Blue Man to Ballet, Weston to Warhol, Cobain to Country, Traditional, Avant-garde, Blues, Rock, World.
We want to give everyone the opportunity to explore avenues of expression they may not have previously considered, that there are colors & flavors beyond the familiar. Like when you discovered not all Italian food tastes like spaghetti, Japanese cuisine goes far beyond sushi.
There is commonality in diversity. We all share the need to be seen and heard Our main focus has been to create a level playing field for all artists.
There are some very talented artists out there who cannot compete in the music or art industry, due to a lack of funds, resources and capital. We first started with a promotion company, that included custom textile (screen printing) printing to offer artists merchandise to sell at shows for a minimal cost while giving them more for their dollar.
Many times we need merchandise with our band/artist logo to self-promote our band, art and business. When you lack that capital and don't have a lot of knowledge about buying merchandise to promote your band, you can spend all the money you have on a small promotion package that includes a few logo printed band t-shirts, a few promotional items such as posters, autographed band photos but most artists already have these items on their hard drive and should not have to pay for someone else to take their digital photos and artwork, make a poster out ofit when with a little assistance, artists can do this for themselves and for much less.
Having full control over promotion can be essential for the indie artist who has little funds to compete in the promo arena...having a creative consultant is what most artists lack but need. Many companies will charge for one or the other. Most companies can only supply the artist with one or the other...kind of like getting into that doctor "specialty" field. It just gets so confusing, expensive, limited and frustrating. This should be less about the high dollar promo gimmick and more about how we can help each other out as a community, with the fairness and understanding that we must ALL make 'a living' but it doesn't have to be at the high expense of another.
Our goal is to integrate these marketing services for bands and artists in a way that everyone involved can make a living while building a community that has unlimited resources for artists, fans, bands and even businesses who share this common goal and vision.
We also have interests in building community/members recording studio for local indie artists. These will be built using second hand (used) and donated equipment from businesses and other artists in our network/community. We hope to give the indie artist the resources and equipment to make demo CDs so they can compete with others who have the capital to send demo CDs to labels and industry executives.
This has always been a goal for many of us. It's something we believe in and that belief plays a big role in the motivation factor!
