Breezy cool summery night feeling...ahhh it's an experience! Reviewer: Seeji As an artist I come across many outstanding fellow musicians, but Greg Fine's music made me close my eyes and smile! As soon as I heard his song The Good Life I called all of my radio dj friends who loved Greg's music but format was usually for dance & techno. Greg's music is so inspiring that I started my own station just to put his music on the air. I cannot stop talking about or sharing Greg's music! I feel his music is an experience because it awakens all the senses that make us feel alive! Wonderful!
Excellent Reviewer: S.Truffa The tracks on the cd are great. I've heard most of them live as well and it's amazing. Greg is truly talented.
why isn't this guy signed? Reviewer: Joseph McMillan I experieced Greg live at the Jeff Buckley Tribute show in Chicago and he blew me away! His recording will give you a glimpse of how talented he is - this EP is timeless!
"....it's no doubt that this guy has a bright future." Reviewer: discoveringartists With a captivating acoustic-driven sound backed by semi-somber rhythms, this album is a great sampling of a full-length collection to hopefully soon come. I didn't get into the lyrics at first because this guy's voice kept taking over - it's divine. The sound is Glen Philips meets Gregory Douglass, and it's stellar. Infused with a little funk and a whole lot of layered piano and guitar, it's no doubt that this guy has a bright future. "254" is a medley of just about every musical style out there, and in it, Fine wails, "And in this haze/Is everything/And in this rage/Is everything." "Shine" is a straightforward, heartfelt acoustic tune with Fine's entrancing voice filling up the gap between each strum. Lyrically, we're looking at simple stuff, but still in poetic style. Did I mention this guy has mad potential? Yah, I did. But I just wanted to remind you, because you'll be hearing more about him on our site - no doubt!
Just Fine Reviewer: Christina Gavin Greg Fine is one of a kind. His voice is sweet and dreamy, with a sharp edge. His songs stay with you...they speak to you... they give you the feeling it's about your own life. If you have the chance to see him perform live, you'll know what I'm talking about. Until then, buy the CD and get a glimpse of his talent. I'm really looking forward to hearing future recordings.
Songs that become your best friend... Reviewer: Jacob Martin These songs represent what music is supposed to be: Mood, melody and message. "254" is a song that will remain w/ me eternally... Buy this C.D. and have your own "Jeff" you can brag about when Greg blows up!!
beautiful voice, beautiful lyrics, beautiful songs Reviewer: Susanne Lane Buy this CD!!! I haven't taken it out of my CD player since the day I bought it. "Shine" is my favorite song after "The Good Life". Definitely check it out!
Beautiful Music from a great New York singer-songwriter Reviewer: Brian Sendrowitz Greg Fine’s latest work is a revelation. The wisdom found within these 5 songs is striking. The opening track “good life” is the rarest kind of love song that is about being in love on a thousand levels-in love with your girl, in love with life, in love with the music and all the beauty and chaos of our world. This sets the tone for the rest of the EP, where Greg covers some heavy themes lyrically-mysticism, immortality, and not to mention, the tragedy of September 11th in “254,” which is certainly the strongest and most moving song I’ve come across dealing with the event. Musically speaking, all the arrangements come together quite naturally. Greg’s vocal performance is pitch-perfect as usual. The production is smart; it gives the songs the room they need to breathe. Drummer/producer Joe Bonadio, best known for his work with Martin Sexton, does a great job letting Greg’s lyrics come through, and keyboardist David Sancious delivers some of his best work since he left the E Street band a quarter of a century ago. Profile signifies the arrival of New York singer-songwriter Greg Fine, and leaves us with the promise of truly beautiful music for years to come. |
